Where To Eat In Curacao
Before leaving to Curacao I didn’t know what to expect at restaurants. And as a vegetarian finding a good restaurant is a pretty big deal.. eating pizza margaritas for two or three days is great.. however if you’re traveling for 10 days you want to eat something better than that. I actually was quite surprised by the restaurants of Curacao, and I honestly haven’t had such a veggie-friendly trip in a while. Curacao has a lot of good restaurants (also for not vegetarians) with great views and locations. So here is my list, if where you should eat in Curacao!
Boathouse Food & Marina
Boathouse is one of the most romantic restaurants you’ll find in Curacao, the view is breathtaking, the restaurant is peaceful, the service is great and the food is to die for. Boathouse has a lot of fish, meat and vegetarian food options and you’ll have a hard time choosing from it!
Karakter is supposed to be one of the best lunch spots of Curacao and I cannot disagree. You’ll be eating your lunch (or dinner) at the beach: Karakter definitely makes you feel like you’re in paradise.
Fort Nassau is situated just behind Willemstad and the Queen Juliana Bridge, which gives you an unique view of Curacao. The restaurant is romantic, the food is delicious and while it is a little bit more expensive than the average restaurant of Curacao you’ll have no regrets.
Cabana Beach Restaurant
While Cabana Restaurant is situated at one of the most touristic beaches of Curacao, Cabana Restaurant herself has a very relaxing atmosphere. You’ll be eating your (delicious) dinner with a cocktail, looking over the beach. I personally didn’t mind that Cabana is pretty touristic, when you don’t have a table next to a huge group of party-people you’ll be fine and enjoying your evening in romantic atmospheres.
Saint Tropez Ocean Beachclub
Saint Tropez is a very chill but modern and ‘hip’ place to hang out during the end of the day. After a ‘luxurious’ swim in their infinity pool you’ll be heading over to their restaurant looking out over the ocean. Saint Tropez has a huge selection of finger foods, tapas, and meat dishes. Even if you’re not planning to eat anything: Saint Tropez Ocean Beachclub is a must visit while you’re at Curacao!
Playa Porto Mari
Playa Porto Mari is one of the most beautiful beaches of Curacao, so what better to do than having your lunch or dinner with a view like this? The restaurant of Playa Porto Mari serves Dutch and Local cuisine and gives you a taste of true Curacao. Definitely a must visit!
Bistro Le Clochard
Down at Rif Fort, in Willemstad you’ll find a Bistro. First time I saw it, I thought it was pretty small, that was until I walked in and discovered the restaurant myself. When you walk in you’ll have two seating options: inside close to the piano where live music will be once in a while, or outside, above the ocean. Bistro Le Clochard is, as you can guess, a restaurant offering you French dishes… Delicious! BTW: more of a meat person? Go to Steak & Ribs at Rif Fort.
Restaurant de Kleine Wereld
Next to the fact that De Kleine Wereld is a fantastic looking restaurant with a fantastic view over the harbor you’ll be surprised about the food. De Kleine Wereld offers amazing food for good prices, and all that in this atmosphere. Definitely a must visit!
Eetcafé De Buren
While Eetcafé De Buren may not have a mind-blowing view, it is situated in the middle of Willemstad. I’ve eaten two times at De Buren – the food was fantastic, and their daily specials definitely make it worth the effort as their prices are pretty low. You should definitely have your dinner at De Buren at least once: so while you’re visiting Willemstad.. you’ll know where to go!
